A graduate of the University of British Columbia in 1979, David' career in business and the arts has taken him across the globe to such countries as Russia, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and England as an international performer. David has performed as a professional musician since 1978 when he joined the Vancouver Opera Orchestra, a position he still holds. He was principal tuba in the Vancouver Symphony for the 1980-81 season and was a founding member of A Touch of Brass in 1976. David' teachers include Dennis Miller, Charles Daellenbach (Canadian Brass), Don Miller and Arnold Jacobs (Chicago Symphony).
As an educator, David has taught at the University of British Columbia, Kwantlen University College, Vancouver Community College and Douglas College. Many of his arrangements for Touch of Brass and the Vancouver Tuba Quartet are available through Cherry Classics Publishing.
David plays on a Rudolf Meinl CC tuba and often performs on cimbasso with the opera orchestra. He is also the owner of Tapestry Music, a music retailer with 3 locations in BC. https://tapestrymusic.com
